Yummy Protein Bar Recipe: Make Protein Bars on the Cheap
Protein bars have to be one of the most expensive things I buy at the super market. Here is a nice video teaching us poor college students how to make our own protein bars. You can make a bunch and eat them in between classes. Plus, by her accent, I think that girl is Brazilian. Note, however, that you will have to stop by a nutritional health store to pick up some of these items, but at least you will be healthy.
Here is what you need (makes 24 bars):
- 2 cups raw oat meal
- 1 cup protein powder (e.g., soy protein powder)
- 1/2 cup flex seed
- 1/2 cup wheat germ
- 2 cups trail mix or other form of nuts you prefer
- 1/2 cup ground walnuts
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1 cup honey
- 2 cups peanut butter

Mix all of that together and then place it in an oiled container. No need to bake and you get 11 grams of protein and 4.2 grams of fiber per bar!
