March 15: An entire basketball game was Rick Rolled by supporters of Anonymous who are fighting the Church of Scientology. Being Rick Rolled is to be tricked into clicking a link showing Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” music video.
University of Utah researchers recently completed a study testing how productive different size monitors make computer users. The researchers found that those who used 24 inch monitors performed common office tasks like editing word documents or spreadsheets 52% faster than those using a 18 inch monitor. Those who used two 20 inch monitors performed the task 44% faster than those with 18 inch monitors. NBC and News Corp’s joint venture Hulu.com is in the process of going live as of 11:30pm on March 11th. Hulu was previously only available to select beta users but according to the site any user will be able to freely sign up.
We’re sorry but Hulu.com is temporarily down for maintenace as we prepare to open up to the public.
We’ll be back with our all new site later tonight. Hope to see you soon!
The site offers many of the best shows from NBC and FOX as well as select movies and series from Bravo, Fuel TV, FX, Sci Fi, Style, Sundance, and Oxygen. As soon as the site opens up to the public, feel free to watch the entire first season of Arrested Development, the latest episode of House, or maybe that one episode of Heroes you really enjoyed with only about one minute to one minute and a half of total commercial time per episode. Oh, and best of all, since this site is owned by the major networks, it is 100% legal and you will not get sued for using it.
Update (March 13th): Now that the rest of the world has caught up with College Being’s speedy reporting, we have learned that this site is only for those living in the U.S. But for those that don’t mind installing Hotspot Shield, you can get around that.
Chris Avenir, a freshman student at Ryerson University in Toronto, is up against possible expulsion for creating a Facebook group. The purpose for the group was to create a way for students to help each other on homework assignments and other class work much as they would inside a real classroom in a 20th century study group. The narrow-minded professor dropped the student’s grade from a B to an F (that means Fail for you international fork) and submitted the student to the academic review committee with 146 counts of misconduct–one for creating the group and one for each person who joined the group. The group “Dungeons/Mastering Chemistry Solutions” has since been taken off Facebook. If only he had created the Facebook group anonymously…Thanks Joe.
