Like every other popular news source, the editors of College Being endorse Barack Obama. We are doing it just because everybody else is doing it, but if you are more concerned with the issues, here you go:
He’s Black
Well if you aren’t a racist this is a good thing (if you are racist, you are probably a Republican anyway). Why? Black people are cool dude. (Yeah we are totally white here… dog…) Well it is either a cool Black guy or some grumpy old man. Plus, who cares about the decisions they make when they are president? In reality we should be voting for who we can stand to watch and listen to for at least four years.

The next part of our user-requested renovation project here at College Being is a big restructuring. Ace Anderson has done quite a lot of work here in the last months, but now we are moving in a new direction.
Today, we will start five new authors on the site: The Hippie, The Sorority Girl, The Football Player, The Computer Nerd, and The Professor. Each will add his or her own unique style of writing and view of the world. Also, with new authors, the number of stories posted per day will increase slightly. All are great writers and I am sure you guys will enjoy them.
Ace will continue to assist me in editing the site content and finding great stories to write.
Additionally, starting next week, we will introduce new site topics: The Weekly Deal, For Men, For Women, On a Budget, Universities, and the CB of the Month that has been in works will finally be published.
Due to all the requests to change our design we recently recieved, we have done as you guys requested. Christopher, 2Leaf‘s design staff, and I stayed up all night working on this goodness. Hopefully now, without the massive RSS button, you will be able to read our stories less distractedly (amazingly, that is a real word). We are still working on many more improvements to the site so stay tuned. Now enjoy and let us know your comments below.
The other advice I would give would basically be agreeing with someone else, but to be fair, I had the idea before seeing their post.
It would be very, very cool to have actual readers doing guest blogging. We wouldn’t restrict that to /just/ English majors, would we?

I am awesome because I don’t look like my picture any more — I was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma at 31 and now, rapidly approaching 33, it is behind me. I am writing a book about my cancer experience and hope to be able to publish it. (The picture is from July ’07.) In regular real life, I am a music teacher in inner-city Phoenix and an advocate for my students — their lives are already harder than mine ever was. While not working, I like to work out (especially with a trainer), play with my neurotic Chug (Chihuahua-Pug mix), dance (with or without my husband LOL), sew with my mother-in-law, play trombone in a community band. I am slowly learning to speak Spanish. Life is good, and I am grateful for it every day.

We thank everybody for participating and will be awarding a small prize to everybody that participated within the next few days. All the comments submitted about the site (most of which involved the size of our RSS button) have been read and we are working on improvements to make College Being better.

Due to some concern from some of you about the laptop contest, we will be announcing the finalists between the hours of 10pm and midnight Eastern Time (New York) tonight. This seems to be the best time for everyone with exams and will help many of our international visitors. If you need help with the time zones here is a useful page.
