Barak Obama and John McCain both made fun of themselves at the Alfred E Smith Dinner on October 16, 2008. They jokingly point fun at how the media sees them and at their own campaigns. It is nice to remember they are just normal human beings at times.
As some of you have been noticing and emailing me. We have been just short of the seven posts per day promised earlier in the week. To make up for it, I will do something I did not want to do. That is, I am going to be posting during the weekend. I will do so with enough posts to reach our goal.
Excuses: It is just hard for me to post this many stories per day while doing my other activities (working more than full time, starting a company, and drinking beer). Don’t worry though, you guys are still my favorite activity of all and I will give up that piece of my weekend to make you happy.
How does a college student go about choosing which classes to take or when to take them? Well, for me it is mostly the luck of the draw, but sometimes you get lucky. In this article I will give some suggestions of what I think makes a perfect college class schedule.
Minimum number of lab classes: My freshman year was particularly gruesome due to the large number of science lab classes I was taking. Learn from my mistake and stay away from as many lab classes (especially intro lab classes) as you can. If you have to take them, try to spread it out. You have four years you know. Fine arts students: Interpretive Dancing or Painting 117: The Color Green do not count as lab classes.
Don’t take pre-med classes if you are not pre-med: Obviously not all of us can follow this one, but if you can do it. Especially for classes like Chemistry 101 or Biology 101, where instructors place bets to see who can make the most kids drop pre-med in quickest amount of time. This does not apply to those of you who are masochistic.
college being was having some problems getting the posts from our new authors up right away. This was a bug with my daily deals script which filtered out certain results from showing up on the homepage. I have disabled this part of the script for now so all posts will be immediately visible. Due to this however, the daily deals will also be showing up as regular stories.
